威省金银饰品商业公会简介
黄金珠宝业槟城已有一百多年了，一直是马来西亚黄金及珠宝行业主要贡献者。然而，1954年8月23日马来西亚联合邦政府宣布实施金银饰品由槟城运输到内陆（威省及内陆各州）征税法令。金银饰品经营同业们只好迁移至威省环境之后互相扶持增强金商之联络群策群力，为同业争取福利共嚷盛举而成立威省金银饰品商业公会。
公会成立于1963年之后，也经历了无数的辛酸史，前辈们也是一带一路的走过来，一代一代的经营着，从旧时代走向新世纪，从纯手工工业到科技时代到今天的网路资讯时代。这是多么大的改变，新旧时代的变化，企业转型是要如何开始，从那里收据资讯，又要如何的培训与传承，如何继续在这行业里继续生存及不被淘汰。
2016 年公会开启历史新页，毅然跨出第一步，主办了第一届亚洲黄金展，取得巨大的成功。就让这项威省金银饰品商业公会的品牌活动，办的更加出色，开索更多的国际业务，建立马来西亚的品牌，成为年度盛会，一路办下去。
期望未来会有更多的会员加入本会，也期望所有会员继续合作，一起交流，一起开创新局，迎接更好的明天，共创更强大及充满未来的黄金业。
Province Wellesley Gold and Silver Jewellery Association brief:
The gold jewellery industry in Penang which has been established for more than 100 years, has been one of the primary contributors to the Malaysian gold and jewellery industry. However, on August 23, 1954, the Malaysian government announced the implementation of tax laws on gold and silver jewellery from Penagn which are routinely transported to the mainland (Granville and Inland States tax laws). This led to the migration of many gold and silver jewellery business merchants to the mainland in an effort to sustain this industry. A few years later they gradually adapted to the new environment and through unity and support from each other, they managed to strengthen the gold jewllery industry as a whole. In an attempt to fight for the welfare of the establishment in the province, the gold and silver jewellery business union was formed.
The association which was established in 1963, has experienced many ups and downs. Predecessors of the association emerged gradually, from generation to generation of the business. The association has witnessed a great change throughout the eras, from olden days to present times.
There have been great changed in the association since its inception. It has undergone various transformations in the context of information reception, training and inheritance and many more. This has allowed the association to not only survive, but to thrive in
present times.
The association reached a milestone in 2016 when it decided to host the first Asian Gold Fair which was greeted with admirable success. Let Province Wellesley Gold and Silver Association continue with its brilliant activities, show of excellence and indulgence in international businesses to establish this Malaysia brand in the coming years.
It is hoped that in future, the association will have more members who will join hands. Moreover, with continual cooperation and collaboration, it is possible to create a new, more united association. Together we envision a better future by creating a more powerful and prosperous gold industry!
